The above picture shows items that were found in a dryer vent. Most of the heavy stuff is right behind the dryer in the connector pipe. It makes you wonder if that lint filter is doing anything.

But there is another hazard. When we are cleaning dryer vents, many times we find those socks you've been missing or a bunch of old "Bounce sheets" and your favorite shirt. The hottest part of a dryer vent system is behind the dryer; both in the connector pipe and stuff that was dropped accidentally behind the dryer. All these items are potential fire hazards. You don't have to pull your dryer out to see most of these items. Just use your smartphone! Take a picture behind the dryer. If you can see anything that will burn behind the dryer get it out!
